YOUNG MUSICIANS OF THE YEAR

Siena Barr attends Highworth Grammar School and her Saturdays are spent at Guildhall School of Music and Drama Junior Department.  At nine she was a member of the National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain and is a member of the Kent County Youth Orchestra.  She is part of the New Sounds Ensemble, one of Deal Music and Arts education projects.

 

Philippa Leney is currently studying for her A Levels at Simon Langton Grammar School.  .

Her passion for music became evident when she started piano lessons aged seven.  She has singing lessons in Deal with Lord Gawain Douglas and hopes to become an Opera singer.

 

Samuel Johnson attends Brockhill Park Performing Arts College and is studying for A Levels. He is also studying performance and A Level Music at Trinity Laban Junior Conservatoire of Music and participants in several musical ensembles including Kent County Youth Orchestra, Snowdown Collier Band and the National Children’s Brass Band of Great Britain.  His ambition is to study music at university and then become a musician the Armed Forces.

Aurora Trio is an exciting young chamber ensemble which has developed a reputation for pushing the boundaries of its instrumentation.   Established at the Royal Academy of Music, they are also selected artists of Live Music Now and the Concordia Foundation and in 2016 were awarded the Dorothy Parkinson Memorial Award for young British Musicians.
