Tying in with a ‘Bach’ sub-theme to the 2019 festival, the combined forces of the Academy of Ancient Music and Guildhall School of Music’s Historical Performance Department present a sparkling orchestral programme that focuses on J.S. Bach’s years in the city of Weimar and the composers he associated with at the time.  With music by baroque masters Telemann, Fasch and Graupner, the concert ends with J.S. Bach’s magisterial Suite no 3, famous for the slow movement made popular in the 1980s by Jacques Loussier and Hamlet cigars!
