CELEBRATING THE WORK OF TONY NANDI

‘TRANSIENCE’

6.30pm Linden Hall Studio

Celebrated performance photographer Tony Nandi introduces his work which will be exhibited at The Linden Hall Studio throughout the Festival.  The exhibition includes photographs that celebrate his time with Deal Music & Arts as photographer-in-residence.

On moving to Deal five years ago Tony volunteered as the photographer for Deal Music & Arts, a position he holds to this day. This exhibition includes a display of images from his professional theatre work and a feature wall of his work for DM&A and the Festival.

He has been photographing the performing arts for almost forty years, with a particular interest in dance. He is intrigued by the challenge of the conveyance of a dynamic time-based, three dimensional, emotionally charged creative production into a static two-dimensional image. His ultimate intention is to invite and engage the viewer to partially recreate the physical, spatial and emotional experience of the performance, only through timing and composition.

Tony is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), and of The Royal Society of Arts (FRSA). In 2018 he was also made an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society (ARPS).
