Poets working at the forefront of contemporary poetry perform their work across the whole day in Deal.
Seven Poets working at the forefront of contemporary poetry perform their work across the whole day in Deal.
Poets include former and current members of Barbican Young Poets – an artist development initiative run by one of the country’s most inspirational writers and educators, British-Guyanese poet Jacob Sam-La Rose. Jacob Sam- La Rose is a poet, performer, educator and editor who has performed and taught internationally. Throughout the day poets will perform in different venues with a final poetry and music session at The Linden Hall Studio. Jacob will be joined by Viola player Fiona Winning who was for many years principal viola player for the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and appears as well with The Kegelstatt Trio who will perform an Homage to Schumann during the Festival.
At The Linden Hall Studio Jacob and Fiona will present music by Bach and Deal Festival’s new Artistic Director, Luke Styles, alongside poetry and other text.
