Conductor: Olivia Tait
The warm, spacious acoustic of St George’s Church makes a perfect setting for a choral programme celebrating the wonder of the stars. This performance by Recordare, a chamber choir comprising some of the finest young professional singers in the UK, is the culmination of a joyful day of singing. Their celestial-themed programme includes music through the centuries from Byrd and Monteverdi to Parry, Stanford and 21st-century composers Laura Mvula, Eric Whitacre and Christopher Brown, along with a piece by Composer in Focus, Nneka Cummins.
Programme includes:
| Otto Olsson | Ave maris stella |
| Byrd | Siderum rector |
| Monteverdi | Sfogava con le stelle |
| Alec Roth | Stargazer |
| Eric Whitacre | Leonardo Dreams of His Flying Machine |
| Lucy Walker | There will be stars |
| Stanford | God and the Universe |
| Parry | My soul, there is a Country |
