Film – A Late Quartet
Directed by Yaron Silberman and starring Christopher Walken and Philip Seymour Hoffman, this 2012 film about a world-renowned string quartet is inspired by and structured around Beethoven’s Quartet, Opus 131. The film follows the fictional New York-based Fugue String Quartet, who have played together for 25 years, after its cellist Peter Mitchell (Walken) is diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Tensions emerge when their uneasy harmony is put at risk by illness.
This film lasts approximately an hour and 45 minutes.
