Following his popular workshop in last year’s festival, tabla maestro Kuljit Bhamra returns again, this year with Senegalese kora player Kadialy Kouyate, to share their combination of Senegalese and Indian music-making through an interactive workshop for all age-groups.
The afternoon will be an opportunity to try different instruments, guided by two internationally renowned artists. Kuljit’s cutting-edge projects and ground-breaking educational work earned him an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2009.
He is passionately committed to promoting the understanding of Indian instruments and broadening their use in all types of music by people of all cultures. Kadialy has taught kora at London’s SOAS for the last decade.
No experience needed to take part.
