Coastlines – An Oratorio of Gulls

Luke Styles Composer Hazel Gould Librettist Graham Harvey Conductor Tim Offord Narrator Rob Hackett and Vicki Feldman School choir leaders Phil White Director of Bold As

This oratorio celebrates the herring gull, a threatened symbol of the Kent coast, as the brave gull’s story is brought to life in words and music.

This world premiere by composer Luke Styles (DMA Artistic Director) and librettist Hazel Gould is performed by local favourites the White Cliffs Symphonic Winds, alongside choirs from St Edmund’s and Warden House Schools and Dover young people from DMA’s innovative brass project Bold As.

Styles’ music will soar around the newly renovated Maison Dieu, with its fabulous painted ceiling. The second half of the concert features popular favourites from the White Cliffs Symphonic Winds.

This concert lasts approximately one hour.
