Performance and short Workshop

Ira Oinonen and Jere Virta from Ilmatila

Ilona Jäntti Director

A breathtaking and unique performance by this Czech circus duo who transform their bodies into a game of human croquet, complete with mallets and balls. Two old rivals meet again to test their skills against each other. In the heat of the battle, the rules and etiquette are forgotten, with mallets and players flying across the lawn. Their astonishing acrobatics are set to the mesmerising music of Britten’s Six Metamorphoses after Ovid, as they bend themselves into unfeasible shapes and angles. This is a playful show suitable for everyone, especially children!

The 10am performance lasts approximately 25 minutes and the 11.15am performance is followed by a short interactive skills demonstration, making the total length approximately 45 minutes.

Please note: this is an outdoor event with the audience standing and it will take place even in light rain. If the weather is very bad, please check our website. Entrance to the club is via the large double metal gate on the North side of Archery Square.
