Black Eyed Susan by Douglas Jerrold
Deal Music & Arts Festival 2025 - Coastlines
Black Eyed Susan

by Douglas Jerrold

Robert Poulter’s ingenious new model theatre is the setting for this classic play by one of the founders of the 19th century satirical magazine, Punch, Black Eyed Susan, capturing the Deal coastline and its landmarks and using music from Jonathan Blewitt’s 1829 score. Robert’s new model theatre extends the medium of the Toy Theatre by creating shows with movement, lighting effects and changes of scenery. He is a regular performer in the USA, Germany and France, described as a ‘rare talent and performer and internationally regarded’.

This performance lasts approximately one hour.
