An unrivalled opportunity to immerse yourself in an artist’s world, and to experience music and literature, surrounded by art works. Internationally celebrated artist Joanna Jones will personally introduce you to her large egg tempera paintings. There will be music from our young Artist in Association, cellist Hoda Jahanpour, a reading by painter and writer Simon Bill from his new book Dover, and coffee.
Artist curator Nicolas Deshayes wrote: “Jones first came to Dover in the late 1940s, travelling with her mother to its shoreline from where they continued to France. Her mother’s energy lightened when they reached Dover, and the town has since symbolised the gateway to Joanna’s “other world”. In 1997 she returned after living on the continent of Europe for 20 years, making a nest for herself here in the clouds above the port.”
Please note: places are limited so book early. Joanna’s address will be made known to ticket holders. On-street parking is usually available. There are a number of stairs up to Joanna’s house and unfortunately it is not accessible to wheelchair users.
This event lasts approximately one hour.
