Drowned landscapes and storytelling seep into this programme of Baroque sonatas and suites from both sides of the English Channel. As performers of early music, Lizzie and James’s performance is built half on myth, and the other on constantly shifting sands – tastes change, new research comes to light, old music is rediscovered and reinterpreted again and again.
This programme takes its name from the island of Lomea, which may or may not have formed the modern-day Goodwin Sands. The pieces are interspersed with interludes based on unmeasured preludes from Couperin and Jacquet de la Guerre.
