Pilgrimage – Sound Installation

Anna Braithwaite

Experience the myriad, and unexpected, sounds of a wild walk along the coast path from Deal to Dover as captured by Folkestone-based sound artist Anna Braithwaite. Pilgrimage is an immersive 360° sound installation which uses field recordings and improvised vocal music, recorded en route in St Margaret of Antioch church, to capture the experience of the modern pilgrim.

Anna Braithwaite’s work has been performed at the Royal Opera House, the National Theatre and on BBC Radio 3. She has worked on community projects with the Marlowe Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Please note: the 18-minute piece will be played on a continuous loop throughout the day and listeners can choose how long to stay.

Immersive Sound Taster Session, 4pm – 5pm
Spend an hour with sound artist Anna Braithwaite and Gavin Roberts of Screen South using simple plugin E4L within Ableton Live to manipulate sound around the 360° rig. No previous experience is necessary to take part in this hands-on, practical session but some knowledge of using a DAW would be beneficial. All equipment will be provided. Pay what you can, please sign up for your place here:
