Hoda Jahanpour cello and DMA Young Artist in Association
Deal Radio will be broadcasting a series of sonic postcards recorded in some of Deal and its surrounding area’s favourite natural spaces – including the Captain’s Garden, Deal Beach, under Deal Pier and at St Margaret’s Bay – capturing the town’s beauty, ecological significance, and ongoing conservation efforts in sound. It’s hosted by Hoda Jahanpour, DMA’s Young Artist in Association, who plays stunning music at every location, accompanied by waves and bird song – an example of the harmony between human creation and the environment. It features conversations between Hoda and local people around the music, natural sounds, community involvement and environmental issues that run through the show. This will be broadcast as a series of four episodes by Deal Radio at 7.30pm on Wednesdays 2, 9, 16, 23 July, with the whole series as one on 30 July.
A collaboration between Deal Radio, Deal Music and Arts and Steve Wakeford from DealWithIt
