Deal Music & Arts holds dear its central work in Learning & Participation. In many cases DMA is the sole provider of arts learning to those in our immediate area. We are naturally proud of all we do to help our community.
In these strange times, arts learning has been put even further out of reach for young people, and they are entirely reliant on their school’s ethos toward the arts.
Immense thanks are due to the musical directors of our education programmes: Peter Cook (Musical Director of our Music Centre), Joe Browne (Musical Director of Jazz Journey and our Creative Jazz Weekend) and Phil White (Musical Director of Bold As. Peter, Joe and Phil have been busy creating online learning resources for the participants in these programmes. We are also offering online mentoring for small groups. And thanks to our partner organisation, National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO), a trail blazing set of jazz learning resources has been made available.
Although most of our material is not publicly visible, we wanted to share examples of what we are doing.
