Lord Gawain Douglas

Gawain Douglas, poet and musician, suggests that while the once and future king may have been a warrior chief who fought against Saxon invaders, in Arthur’s case myth is mightier than fact. Revisiting Tennyson’s poem Morte d’Arthur, Douglas nudges the legend towards Deal – is ‘the Lost Isle of Lomea’  our own Goodwin Sands, the Isle of Avalon where Arthur was taken to be healed?

With musical interludes played by Niki Douglas on the piano.
